Stanford psychologist Carol Dweck found, in her book ‘Mindset’, that people adopt two mindsets: Fixed Mindset and Growth Mindset

  1. Fixed Mindset:
    • Believe that they’re born with a predetermined amount of intelligence - either they’re smart or they’re not.
    • Failure indicates they’re not smart.
    • They do things that validates their strength.
    • Give up early and easily.
    • They prefer to point to Lack of effort instead lack of ability
  2. Growth Mindset
    • Believe they can cultivate and grow intelligence.
    • View failures and challenges as opportunity.
    • Don’t give up.
